The Story Behind Elevated Spaces

Organizing is more than just something I do—it’s something I love doing. It’s been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and it’s what led me to start Elevated Spaces. The journey to creating this business hasn’t been a straight line, but looking back, I can see how all the little pieces came together. It’s funny how life works that way.

Finding Calm in the Chaos

Growing up, my life was full of transitions—moving through foster care and eventually being adopted. With all the uncertainty, I learned early on that organizing my environment gave me a sense of control over the chaos around me. If things were a mess on the inside, at least I could control the mess on the outside. It was like finding a mini-reset button to clear my mind, one neatly packed suitcase or color-coded bookshelf at a time.

And let’s not forget about my fourth-grade class project where I crafted “The Ready to Go Organizer” for a desk from scratch. Maybe it wasn’t award-winning material, but I loved how something so simple could bring order to my space. Even as a kid, those moments of organizing and creating systems made my mind feel quieter and more focused, and it was a skill I carried with me into adulthood.

A Desire to Help Others

As I got older, I realized I wasn’t just into organizing for myself—I also loved helping others create that same sense of calm. I’ve always been the kind of person who gets a real kick out of lifting others up. Whether it was offering some kind words or helping a friend sort through a problem, I found a lot of joy in making things easier for others.

One of my most rewarding roles was working as a field instructor in wilderness therapy. Helping kids organize their backpacks, schoolwork, and, yes, their emotional lives, was a huge part of my job. Seeing their faces light up as they took ownership of their systems—and then seeing their confidence grow—was like watching a plant finally bloom. It wasn’t just about getting them organized, it was about watching them take pride in the systems we created that worked for them and realizing how much more in control they felt. It was proof that small steps of change—whether it’s cleaning up your backpack or organizing your thoughts—really can transform a person’s life.

From Passion to Profession

I’ve always enjoyed helping friends and family organize their homes—kitchens, closets, you name it—but I never really thought about it as something I could do professionally. That is, until one day my cousin casually mentioned that organizing could actually be a job. And just like that, the lightbulb went off. Why not make a career out of what I love?

I dove into the world of professional organizing and worked for a team-based organizing company in Salt Lake City. While it was a great learning experience, I quickly realized I preferred working with people one-on-one. I knew that true transformation happens when you can really connect with someone and understand their needs on a deeper level. I wanted to understand why people lived the way they did, what they struggled with, and how I could help them build systems that actually worked for their lives. I didn’t want to just come in, organize, and leave—I wanted to create lasting change. That’s how Elevated Spaces came to life, with a focus on elevating your life one step at a time, and creating personalized, sustainable systems that work for you.
